Fault of 50 thousand euros and a specific warning: it costs Inter very dearly, the firecracker exploded on the field during Sunday&#8217s match against Cremonese, towards the grigiorosso goalkeeper Emil Audero. An episode that, among other things, had already provoked as an almost immediate consequence a ban on away matches for the Nerazzurri fans until next March 23, with the exception of the return derby scheduled on the 8th of the same month. Below are the reasons expressed by the sports justice, as reported by the Lega Serie A note.

“A fine of € 50,000.00 and specific warning to Soc. Inter for having its supporters, during the match, throw various pyrotechnic material, firecrackers and smoke bombs on the field of play. In particular, in the 3rd of the second half, the bursting of a firecracker thrown near a player of the opposing team led to the momentary stun of the same and the suspension of the match for about three minutes” reads the League statement, published through its official channels on Wednesday.

In the’analysis of what happened, it was however “noted that, while dealing with particularly serious facts, this Judge should adequately value, in a mitigating sense, the available and cooperative behavior of the Company for the purposes of the almost immediate identification of those responsible for the incident (art. 29 lett. c) CGS, as well as the clear dissociation from the serious manifestations taking place (art. 29 lett. d) CGS) also highlighted in an active way by the players on the field, during the match and at the end of it”.

Already after the match, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta had firmly stigmatized the’incident: “I want to condemn the gesture– his words to Dazn microphones -. It has nothing to do with the values of sport, it is absolutely insulting. The sorrow is great and it is not only mine. To share it is practically the entirety of Inter fans”.

Even Lautaro Martinez had expressed immediate astonishment, in a negative sense: “These things should not happen– the Nerazzurri captain had declared -. There is a risk of a person getting hurt. We have to be careful, because we give a show that is seen all over the world. I want to apologize to Audero and to all Cremonese fans”.
