Bayern Munich’s flop purchase explains his sudden transfer

Changing to relaunch himself: Bryan Zaragoza explained in an interview his decision to move to Roma to test himself again at a big club after his failure at Bayern Munich. Signed by the German club in 2024, the Malaga winger never succeeded in establishing himself in the Bundesliga and was sent out on loan first to Osasuna, then to Celta Vigo.
Last January came the offer from Serie A, which the player wanted to seize in order to return to play at a high level and prove his worth: “It all happened very quickly: overnight I was told that a transfer to Roma was possible, and I did not hesitate for a second” he explained in the interview with the Italian club’s official website.
“I can’t wait to start, I have already played in La Liga and Bundesliga and I never thought I would arrive in Serie A. The decision was completely spontaneous, I know it is a difficult league but I will give everything to win”.
Zaragoza wants to win a starting spot to showcase himself for the 2026 World Cup: “Last year, despite injuries, I had enough space in the national team. This year not yet, but I think the opportunity will come soon and my goal, or one of my goals, is to go to the World Cup”.
Roma has signed him on loan until the end of the season, with a right of redemption at 13 million euros that can become an obligation if the players qualify for the next Champions League, or if the outfielder participates in at least 50 percent of matches (for a minimum of 45 minutes).
His contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2029. Now Zaragoza is only thinking about settling in Italy and Rome: “I do not know the city very well, I have never been there, but everyone speaks well of Rome. I arrive with a strong desire to know everything and to stay here for a long time”.
