Jannik Sinner: nice message for Dorothea Wierer, who had defended him in the past

Between champions always understand each other: Jannik Sinner wanted to celebrate Dorothea Wierer, the biathlon legend who ended her career in Milan Cortina 2026, with a message on social media. L’Azzurro, who has come under fire in recent weeks after defeats at the Australian Open and the Doha ATP 500, first commented on Dorothea&#8217s post about the end of her career with three special emoticons (heart eyes, flames, and applause), and then re-shared the message in his Instagram stories.

“What a career, congratulations”, wrote the Italian player, who wanted to pay tribute in the best way to the 35-year-old athlete, who said enough is enough after a home Olympics and a legendary career.

The two hold each other in high esteem: Dorothea in the past had not spared praise for the Blue. “He is an outstanding athlete, he has grit and he has a crazy head. I think a lot of people would like to be like him, someone who never gives up, someone who always wants to win. And yet he’s kept his feet on the ground, and that’s a good thing, he doesn’t let it go to his head. His reaction to the affair that involved him? Wierer had also defended him after the Clostebol case in an interview with Il Dolomiti: “I almost can&#8217t put myself in his shoes, it must all be really absurd, maybe not even Wada is too clear in this matter… Who knows, maybe the criticism that came from other athletes and the media controversy that arose over this affair could have played a role. What I do know is that Jannik is a very good guy, a great professional and a great athlete, I am sure that as he has already shown he has nothing to hide”.
