In this start of the season, Aston Martin has largely disappointed. Both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll are stuck with zero points. Zero like the value of the new single-seater, which, to date, is the worst, by far, of the whole lot, complicit with the Honda power unit. The Japanese manufacturer’s work has not lived up to expectations, as explained, several times, by the team’s own drivers.

However, according to Jenson Button, the future will reward the choice to bet on Honda: “When I won my first race with Honda in 2006, I saw many grown men crying. That shows the passion and commitment behind it. Now it’s not like that anymore. It is different. The performance is not at the top yet, but it will be. Because they will work hard to make it happen; every day is a learning experience at Honda,” his words to AS.

The Formula 1 World Champion (2009 year) has no doubts that Honda will be able to make a big comeback in F1: “I am 100 percent sure. It’s just a matter of time. They always get it done. Always,” his closing remark confirming Aston Martin’s ambassador’s confidence in the Japanese automaker.

The real problem is that, in Aston Martin, they need concrete and positive results at a close range. The long break due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs may davevro have helped Honda’s engineers a great deal to solve the many problems that, at the moment, make Aston Martin the worst stable in the circus.
