Carlos Alcaraz, what’s going on? New outburst in press conference

Carlos Alcaraz is again causing discussion in press conferences. For weeks now, the Spanish world number one has been showing signs of irritation, with statements openly over the top. After defeats in Indian Wells and Miami Carlos had similarly vented, “The only thing that tires me sometimes is the feeling of always having a target on my back. I just have to accept it and move on, knowing that from now on everyone will try to play like that against me.”
“Sometimes I’m tired of feeling like I’m playing against Roger Federer every round. Sometimes it seems like everyone is playing at an incredibly high level just with me. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like it’s always happening against me.”
In Monte Carlo Alcaraz first sent another controversial message, saying he was already resigned to Jannik Sinner overtaking him (“I’m going to lose the world number one spot”), then resoundingly lashed out about too many cameras on the circuit. “For fans it will be great, but for us players there is no privacy anymore,” the Murcian said at a press conference.
“We no longer have a place to relax, since we constantly think there are cameras and everyone is watching us. Having cameras so close, that they can even see what we are looking at on our phones, seems excessive to me. We already don’t have much privacy in tournaments per se, and I think this is too much. We should have spaces where we can be alone without being filmed,” Alcaraz concluded, definitely annoyed.
