The relationship between Guillermo Maripan and Torino seems to be coming to an end. The Chilean defender’s contract will expire next June 30 and, at the moment, there have been no contacts for a possible renewal. On the contrary, the increasingly widespread feeling is that at the end of the season the roads will part.

In recent times, the field has also confirmed this scenario: with Roberto D’Aversa’s arrival on the bench, the former Alaves and Monaco player has completely dropped out of the rotation, remaining at zero minutes in the last five games.

The 1994-born South American footballer has started to consider new opportunities. His priority remains Europe, but at the moment the most concrete interests come from South America.

In particular, River Plate is moving decisively to try to sign him on a zero-parameter basis. The Buenos Aires-based white and red club is looking for an experienced defender and has reportedly already initiated contacts, putting a first proposal on the table: an 18-month contract, until December 31, 2027.
