Inter market, Barcelona is serious about Bastoni: 70 million ready

“Negotiating for Bastoni.” With this headline the Spanish daily Sport opens up about Barcelona’s possible offensive for Alessandro Bastoni. The Blaugrana club wants to reinforce the defense ahead of next season and is willing to go all the way, without being discouraged by Inter’s valuation, which starts from at least 70 million euros for the player, who is linked to the Nerazzurri until 2028.
For his part, the defender would be seriously considering leaving Italy to start a new experience, but only on condition of landing in Catalonia. Mundo Deportivo also confirms the interest: Bastoni would have given clear indications to his agents, preferring to stay at Inter until the end of his contract rather than consider other destinations. The Liverpool track, despite some soundings, would not be part of his plans.
According to the Spanish newspaper, the basis of an understanding would already exist between the player and Barcelona, but the green light from coach Hansi Flick is still missing. The coach will have to meet with sporting director Deco to define the market strategy (meeting postponed due to Champions League commitments and now postponed until the end of La Liga). In case of okay, Bastoni could open a direct dialogue with Inter to negotiate the transfer and, perhaps, obtain a reduction in the price.
The operation could also include some technical quid pro quos: among the names circulated are young full-back Héctor Fort, class 2006 currently on loan at Elche, and Swedish striker Roony Bardghji, little used by Flick but already grown a lot in value after being bought for about two million.
