"He’s not normal, he’s not well": words about Marc Marquez cause discussion

If the victory in the Sprint had brought back confidence, what happened in the race, with the crash that delivered a heavy ‘zero’ for the standings, has raised doubts about the physical and mental resilience of Marc Marquez, who is struggling with a far from serene start to the season riding the factory team’s Ducati.

To make noise, in particular, were the words of what more than one source believes to be Marquez’s next teammate, Pedro Acosta. Indeed, the ‘Tiburòn’, speaking on the sidelines of the Andalusian weekend, sparked debate among fans and insiders with a laconic but decidedly harsh phrase: “It’s not normal to see Marc like this, it’s obvious he’s having some problems. He’s not well.”

Acosta’s concern is related to the physical condition of the number 93, who after the nasty injury that denied him from competing in the finale of last season (having, however, already won the World Championship) now seems to be living on flashes, as evidenced by the successes in the Sprints in Brazil and Jerez, without, however, that hammering continuity that had characterized last year, until the moment of the knockout.

The debate is also lively on social media and is, as is often the case, polarizing: in fact, there are those who believe Marquez is still a long way from the best physical condition to face a difficult commitment such as the MotoGp World Championship, and those who instead point out that the native of Cervera is not the only Ducatista in crisis, given also the disappointing results of Pecco Bagnaia in this beginning of the 2026 season.

Jerez made ambiguous judgments, partly because of weather that threw a tantrum on Saturday, creating difficult situations from which, paradoxically, Marquez himself had emerged victorious. Sunday, however, rekindled doubts: there is now to wait for the second weekend in May, when the MotoGP caravan will stop at Le Mans, to see if this is a passing crisis for Marquez or a much bigger problem.
