Monza also expressed its grief for the passing of Evaristo Beccalossi, who in the Brianza club had played the 1985-1986 season in Serie B, a difficult year from the sporting point of view in which, however, ‘Becca’ tried unsparingly to make his contribution.

“AC Monza participates in the grief of the family for the passing of Evaristo Beccalossi, one of the most talented and unpredictable fantasists of Italian soccer, who wore the biancorossa jersey in the 1985-86 season, in which he collected 15 appearances and 3 goals,” reads the club’s official channels.

“Brilliant and romantic number 10, flag of Inter, after his career as a footballer and manager he brought his sympathy and humanity to the television world. Ciao Becca.”

Beccalossi landed at Monza in the summer of 1985, after a season played at Sampdoria on loan from Inter, a club whose uniform he had honored between 1978 and 1984, even winning a Scudetto in 1980. After his year in Brianza, he then returned to Brescia, where he played one season in A and one in B, before the last stages of his career in Barletta, Pordenone and Breno.
