Germani Brescia won 90-82 in Game 2 of the LBA Playoff quarterfinals and tied the series with Pallacanestro Trieste, which failed to repeat the feat of the first game after a hard-fought contest. “Brescia put a lot of energy on the court. We expected it and actually we were also good at starting the game well. To score early at the beginning of the game, put us in a rhythm and find the right momentum which was what we wanted to do,” Coach Taccetti said after the match.

“We suffered a little bit on offense against the second unit; tonight we were a little bit undisciplined in offensive spacing, against the aggressive defense and change of their second unit and we took a first break more, or less right at the turn of the first and second quarter. And then from there we were always chasing. However, I’m happy with my team because they fight, because they never give up, even when we went under: we always tried to react and surely now we have to reset for a moment.”

“It was a game, as you saw, intense, as is normal in the playoffs. Our strength in this moment of ours has to be to reset, to empty our minds and be convinced that we are going home to play to win. The difference will be the mental toughness, the ability to stay in the game, to understand the things to do, understand what will be the most important thing; because in moments of physical difficulty is what allows you to do the right thing on defense or the right read on offense.”

“Since it applies to both teams I think that’s where the series is played. That they have to be physical games, in my opinion it’s really a necessity, but from both teams, so I never expect the games not to be, especially in the Playoffs. Obviously the physicality and aggressiveness has to be managed, so they don’t get nervous. That is the key.”
