Claudio Ranieri will be awarded Cagliari’s honorary citizenship, one of the most prestigious awards the city can bestow on a personality who has contributed significantly to its growth and identity. The official ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. in the historic setting of Palazzo Bacaredda, seat of the City Council.

The city administration will pay tribute to the Roman coach by handing him a commemorative parchment, as a token of the city’s gratitude for his extraordinary contribution to Cagliari Calcio and the entire community. As pointed out in a note released by the city, the recognition is given to Ranieri “for the deep mark he has left in Cagliari’s sporting and human history,” a bond built over the years through outstanding sporting results, but above all thanks to the values of seriousness, dedication and respect that have characterized his path.

The figure of Ranieri in fact holds a special place in the hearts of the red and blue fans and the citizens of Cagliari. From the exploits that marked his first experience on the Cagliari bench to the return that has brought back enthusiasm and pride in the red-blue environment, the coach has been able to establish an authentic relationship with the city and Sardinia, becoming a symbol of belonging and sporting passion.

The ceremony will be attended by Mayor Massimo Zedda, City Council President Marco Benucci and numerous representatives of city institutions. The event will represent a moment of great symbolic value, through which Cagliari intends to celebrate not only the coach’s professional achievements, but also the deep human bond that unites him with the city and its community.
