The 25 points recovered by Marc Marquez from Marco Bezzecchi at the Balaton weekend revive ambitions and optimism at Ducati after the difficult start to the season. The Catalan centaur after his victory in Hungary is now fifth, 72 points behind the leader in the standings, but above all he has boosted his confidence after injury and surgery on his shoulder and foot threatened to scuttle the number 93’s entire season.

The team manager of the official Ducati team Davide Tardozzi to Motorsport.com has no doubts: hope is still alive. “We started with bad luck and problems, plus the opponents were very competitive, but we know how to wait and the right moment comes. We know that Dall’Igna and the engineers always have something in the drawer.”

“Marc dominated and in this way, I have to be honest, I didn’t expect it. That’s why we love him, he never ceases to amaze. With twenty-two races, anything can happen.”

According to Tardozzi, Marquez is still not 100%: “We will work race by race to bring him back to the best condition, we know that for him the most important thing is to get back to 100%, today he is not despite the victory at Balaton.” A message also to Bagnaia: “He has made three podiums in a row and right now he is rebuilding his speed to get back to what he was two years ago. I think he is getting to a bike set-up that suits him and I expect him to be very competitive in Brno.”
