When Jannik Sinner returns to the field: the plans of the'Azure, Laila Hasanovic inseparable

Second day of testing for Jannik Sinner at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. The world number one wants to see straight after the sudden physical collapse that occurred in the Roland Garros match against Juan Manuel Cerundolo, and underwent a whole series of checks both Monday and Tuesday. The two-day trip to Milan came after a mini-vacation for the Blue, who spent several days on a boat in Sardinia in the company of his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic and some of her friends.
The Danish model herself has remained close to the South Tyrolean champion throughout the days following his defeat at Roland Garros, and she also followed him to Milan, where she had dinner with him on Monday evening. Laila will then return with Sinner to Monte Carlo, where the Azzurro will resume training ahead of the Wimbledon tournament, scheduled for June 29.
Not even the untimely defeat in Paris has in fact disrupted the plans of Sinner, who has decided not to play any tournament on grass before the London Slam: the goal is to rest after the long tour de force that led him to win 5 consecutive Masters 1000 in this first half of 2026. Jannik will thus return directly to the court at Wimbledon.
On the physical collapse in Paris, the tennis world continues to debate heatedly. Among the most influential voices is that of John McEnroe, who framed the episode in a broader context: “In truth, it’s not a new problem; he’s been dealing with it for years. It’s brutal to have to deal with this kind of heat, and he’s cramped up on three or four different occasions in the past. I really believe that in the last three or four years they have done everything they can, from testing to nutrition, to find a way to minimize this problem. After this latest defeat they will continue to do that. I would bet anything that they are doing everything they can to fix it.”
