Trieste basketball, step back on PalaRubini: club clarifies reasons

The situation around Pallacanestro Trieste continues to be delicate and constantly evolving. After weeks of evaluations, the club has announced that it did not participate in the tender for the concession of the PalaRubini, entrusting to a note released to the press on Thursday the reasons that led to the decision.

“Pallacanestro Trieste informs that it has chosen not to participate in the tender procedure for the concession of the service of use and management of the Palazzetto dello Sport ‘PalaRubini’ in Trieste – it reads -. The choice was dictated exclusively by the economic and management conditions set out in the call for tenders, and was made out of respect for the municipal administration, which was informed in advance and with which it hopes to maintain a constant dialogue.”

“Pallacanestro Trieste has been engaged for months in the search for a sustainable solution for the sports facility and will continue to move forward in good faith, consulting with all interested parties to achieve this goal,” the Julian club further explains in the press release.

“Pallacanestro Trieste is also actively engaged in the search for support from both sponsors and new investors, an essential element to perfect the registration and enable participation in the Serie A championship. Following up on numerous previous talks, the club has requested a new urgent meeting with local authorities to outline the most effective path toward achieving these goals,” the club concludes.
