Isaac Del Toro completes the hat trick. Following his victories at the UAE Tour and Tirreno-Adriatico, the talented Mexican rider has also won the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, securing his third stage race victory of the season.

Already a standout on Saturday with his victory on the Grand Colombier, Del Toro also prevailed in the final stage, the Beaufort-Plateau de Solaison (Brison), a 120-kilometer route characterized by a very demanding course featuring two Category 1 climbs and two Hors Catégorie climbs.

The race was decided on the final climb of the Plateau de Solaison, 11.3 kilometers with an average gradient of 9.1%. Here, the UAE Team Emirates rider launched an unstoppable attack, shaking off all his rivals and flying solo toward the finish line.

Thanks to this extraordinary performance, Del Toro gained a minute on the Spaniard Ayuso and, more importantly, 1’36” on Luke Tuckwell, thus managing to snatch the yellow jersey from the Australian Red Bull rider and take the overall race lead.

Also worth noting, in the early stages of the stage, was the withdrawal of the young French rider Paul Seixas. The consequences of the crash he suffered on Saturday and the pain sustained in the accident prevented him from continuing the race.
