Who is Aurelien Guernier, Milan’s first signing of the transfer window?

While the management shake-up is not yet fully defined, Milan has pulled off a coup for the future—and its first signing of the summer. Aurelien Guernier, a French player born in 2007, is set to don the Rossoneri jersey and will be announced shortly by the Diavolo.
The Milan management moved quickly to sign the Birmingham City left winger, who is highly regarded for his speed, his dribbling skills—which allow him to easily beat defenders—and his technical ability. With his contract set to expire on June 30, he is considered a talent with plenty of room for growth, who could fill a position that may soon be left vacant by Rafael Leao, who is close to leaving the Rossoneri.
Milan’s management structure has yet to be finalized, but the club’s strategy is clear: to invest in young international talents to develop over the years, and Guernier definitely fits this profile. The player was being closely monitored by Chelsea and Strasbourg, who had set their sights on this rising star.
Now Guernier will be coached by Amorim, who could bring him into the first team or rotate his playing time, sending him to play for Milan Futuro as well. Last season, he played in Premier League 2—the reserve league—appearing in 15 matches and scoring 3 goals.
