Christian Vital is one of the most talked-about names on the summer transfer market. Although he is still under contract with Derthona Basket, his future appears far from certain, with the Piedmont-based club engaged in several transactions involving both incoming and outgoing players. According to rumors circulating in recent weeks, Barcelona has set its sights on the American forward with an Armenian passport, making his potential departure from Tortona one of the central themes in the construction of the new Bianconeri roster.

The possibility of a transfer abroad, however, is not the only option on the table. In fact, Vital continues to have admirers in Serie A as well, with Reyer Venezia reportedly having already made some inquiries to gauge his availability after ending the season with a loss in the championship final against Olimpia Milano.

Reyer’s interest in Vital comes amid a particularly busy summer transfer window for the Venice-based club, which is also grappling with the uncertainty surrounding RJ Cole’s future. The American point guard, the undisputed star of the season with 16.8 points per game in the LBA and 12.9 points with 4.4 assists in the EuroCup, has attracted the attention of several EuroLeague teams, with Zalgiris Kaunas at the forefront, and even Olimpia Milano. This situation could prompt Venice to step up its search for new perimeter players, making Vital’s profile even more appealing to the Venetian front office.

On the other hand, Derthona also has several roster issues to resolve: management is closely monitoring developments to fill the void left by Arturs Strautins’ departure. A move that, if it were to materialize, would demonstrate how Tortona is working on multiple fronts simultaneously, seeking to balance departures with targeted signings.
