Bernardo Corradi: His First Words as Sampdoria’s Coach

Bernardo Corradi is Sampdoria’s new head coach. After terminating his contract with Milan, where he was part of the coaching staff under the recently dismissed Massimiliano Allegri, the former forward has signed with Sampdoria.
“U.C. Sampdoria announces that it has appointed Bernardo Corradi as head coach of the first team. Born in Siena on March 30, 1976, Corradi brings to Sampdoria a wealth of top-level professional experience as both a player and a coach. An international-level forward, during his playing career he wore the jerseys of ChievoVerona, Lazio, Valencia, Manchester City, Parma, and Reggina, among others, in addition to making 13 appearances and scoring two goals for the Italian national team.”
“After retiring from playing soccer, he began his coaching career within the FIGC, first as an assistant coach and later as head of Italy’s youth national teams, leading the Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, and Under-20 squads. This experience allowed him to develop technical, methodological, and managerial skills, contributing to the development of numerous young talents in Italian soccer. During the 2025–26 season, he was also part of Milan’s coaching staff, serving as a technical assistant to Massimiliano Allegri.”
Here are the first words from Corradi, who will be tasked with leading Sampdoria back to Serie A: “I am happy and proud to embark on this adventure at Sampdoria, a historic and prestigious club. After my experiences with the Italian youth national teams and working alongside Massimiliano Allegri, being able to start my coaching career at such an important club is a source of great enthusiasm. I am well aware of the passion and sense of belonging that characterize the Blucerchiati fans. I’d like to extend my sincere greetings to them: I don’t like to make promises, but I can assure you that, together with the team, we’ll work every day with professionalism, dedication, and self-sacrifice to live up to the history and values of this club. I can’t wait to get started.”
