Milan Transfer Market: Sandro Tonali Teases Fans Ahead of Record-Breaking Transfer

Sandro Tonali is ready to embark on a new adventure in the Premier League. The Italian midfielder is leaving Newcastle to join Tottenham in a 100 million-pound deal (approximately 116 million euros), cementing his status as one of the summer’s biggest transfers. Spotted at Milan’s Malpensa Airport before departing for England, the former Milan player expressed his delight at this new chapter in his career: “I’m very happy. We’ve decided to make a change, and we’re ready for this new adventure.”
Although three years have passed since he left the Rossoneri, his bond with Milan remains strong. When asked about a possible return in the future, Tonali replied with a smile: “Just kidding—we talk about it all the time, every single time. I think that if the opportunity ever arises, we’ll discuss it seriously.”
For now, however, a return to Serie A has never really been on the horizon. The midfielder himself explained that, since his move to England, the right conditions for a return to Italy haven’t materialized: “To date, it’s always been very difficult. So I’d say the opportunity has never really been there. We’d talked about it, but there’s never actually been a real chance to come back.”
Finally, Tonali commented on the possibility of reuniting with Paolo Maldini on the national team, should the former Rossoneri captain take on the role of technical director for the Azzurri: “I’d really like that. We haven’t spoken yet, but it would certainly be exciting to work with him again.”
