Sean McDermott is once again a player for Pallacanestro Trieste. The Trieste club itself announced the agreement with the American basketball player, who had already worn the red-and-white jersey in 2025, playing the second half of the season before returning to the U.S. to play for the Valley Suns, the G League franchise affiliated with the Phoenix Suns.

“My family and I are more than happy to return to Trieste,” said the forward, born in 1996, addressing the people of Trieste directly. “I feel lucky and grateful for the opportunity to return for another season in such a wonderful place. We love Trieste, its people, and the passion for basketball that this city has, and I can’t wait to wear this jersey again. I’ll make you a promise right now: I’ll play with maximum effort and with all my heart every second of every game, because this team deserves it and you guys deserve it.”

General Manager Michael Arcieri is also pleased with the agreement reached: “To put it simply, Sean is the epitome of a professional. His class, his integrity, his work ethic, his selflessness, and his desire to improve every single day, in every single practice, represent everything we aspire to as a basketball organization. His shooting is world-class. He simply cannot be left unguarded.”

““The pressure he puts on opposing defenses, the space he creates for his teammates, and the physicality with which he plays on defense make him the prototypical guard in Europe,” added the Biancorossi executive. “His ability to play and defend in multiple roles gives our roster the depth and flexibility we’re always looking for. We’re thrilled to welcome back Sean, Kennedy, and the McDermott family to Trieste, and we extend our warmest Biancorossi embrace to them.”
