Reyer Venezia announced in a press release the renewal of Leonardo Candi’s contract: “Born in Bologna on March 30, 1997, a 190 cm point guard/shooting guard, Candi arrived in Venice in the summer of 2025 after a career that saw him play key roles for Fortitudo Bologna, Reggio Emilia, and Derthona Basket, gaining solid experience in Serie A and European competitions.”

“Ever since joining the Orogranata, Candi has established himself as one of the team’s cornerstones thanks to his intensity, spirit of sacrifice, and willingness to contribute. His ability to play multiple roles on the perimeter, combined with the energy he brings to every practice and game, has made him a valuable asset. In the 2025–26 season, he made 41 appearances in Serie A, averaging 5.4 points and 2.3 assists in 18.4 minutes of playing time, shooting 54.8% from the field and 84.1% from the free-throw line.”

“Beyond the numbers, Candi has made his mark through his daily contributions to the team’s growth. His competitiveness, defensive pressure, ability to change the pace of the game, and the energy he instilled in his teammates were decisive factors throughout the season, taking on even greater importance during the decisive stages of the playoffs, when his impact proved crucial both on the court and in the locker room.”

Here’s what the player had to say: “I’m very honored and excited to continue my journey here in Venice. I thank the club for this opportunity and for believing in me right from the start. Ever since I arrived, I’ve felt like an integral part of a special group, with whom we’ve experienced an unforgettable season. I can’t wait to start the new season, reunite with my teammates, and get to know the new ones, with the goal of sharing more wonderful moments together. A shout-out to all the Reyer fans: see you soon. Let’s keep it strong!”
