Cagliari has been very active in this early stage of the transfer window: Tommaso Giulini, together with new sporting director Pietro Accardi, has been working hard to strengthen Fabio Pisacane’s team. Jacopo Fazzini, Alessandro Romano, Kingstone Mutandwa, Demi Akarakiri, Raphael Kofler, and the experienced Harry Winks have arrived on the island.

As for departures, the name making the most headlines is Juan Rodriguez. The young Uruguayan defender, who joined Cagliari last summer from Peñarol, was one of last season’s biggest surprises and has attracted the attention of several clubs.

Bologna is in the lead, having identified Rodriguez as the ideal replacement for Jhon Lucumí, who is being targeted by Juventus. The Bologna side has already gathered information on the Cagliari defender and, should a spot open up, would gladly make a move for him. According to English sources, a Championship club is also reportedly on Juan Rodriguez’s trail.

Cagliari will also have to resolve the complicated situation involving Sebastiano Esposito, who has been at the center of controversy for several days now. The player is unhappy with the contract renewal offer he received from the Sardinian club and wants to leave. In recent days, there has been a bitter exchange between Stefano Melis, the club’s general manager, and Mario Giuffredi, the agent of the former Empoli player.

The rift is now irreparable, and the forward’s entourage is already looking for a new home: Lazio and Atalanta are the favorites, but Hull City is also monitoring the situation with interest. A move to Como cannot be ruled out, even though that possibility has cooled off after the Larian club gathered information on the matter.
