Juventus Transfer Market: Yildiz Out; the Bianconeri Can’t Wait Any Longer. The Hunt for a Striker Begins
Juventus will be without Kenan Yildiz for the next two months. The Turkish attacking midfielder suffered an injury to his left foot after the match against Frosinone and had to undergo tests at J Medical in Turin. According to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, surgery cannot be ruled out. This is a major blow that further weakens the Old Lady’s offense, which already appeared lacking in the match against Frosinone. After the match, Spalletti criticized Kolo Muani for his missed chances and vocally called for a center forward—a request that now, following Yildiz’s injury, has become even more urgent.
In the upcoming matches, the Turkish player’s spot will be filled by Jeremie Boga and Kerim Alajbegovic, but Juventus needs reinforcements in attack now more than ever. The leading candidates remain Joshua Zirkzee and Alexander Sørloth, although selling Jonathan David is essential to making room for a new signing. The Canadian, who arrived on a free transfer from Lille last season, has failed to live up to expectations with just 7 goals in 39 games. The situation with Zirkzee is clear: the Dutchman from Manchester United, after two disappointing seasons in the Premier League (just nine goals and four assists), has informed his staff that he is interested in a transfer to Juventus and would like to return to Serie A to revive his career. An agreement on the terms still needs to be reached: United insists on a mandatory buyout clause, while Juventus prefers a loan with an option to buy. Another concrete alternative still on the table is Atlético Madrid’s Alexander Sørloth, who is currently sidelined with a muscle injury.
Complicating the transfer picture even further is the situation involving Nico González. The Argentine, following a successful loan spell at Atlético Madrid, has made it clear he does not want to stay in Turin but has rejected offers from Beşiktaş while awaiting an offer from the Colchoneros. The latter, however, are waiting until the final days of the transfer window to secure the best terms from Juventus. With Yildiz’s injury, it cannot be ruled out that the player might remain with the Bianconeri.
