Milan Transfer Market: A Deal Has Been Reached for Gimenez’s Transfer to Porto

Another departure from Milan. An agreement was reached overnight with Porto regarding Santiago Gimenez. The Mexican forward is therefore leaving the Rossoneri to get back on track with the Dragons.

Having been sidelined from the Rossoneri’s new project by coach Amorim, the 25-year-old center forward will try to prove his worth at Porto under coach Farioli.

The two clubs reached an agreement under the following terms: a loan with an option to buy for 18 million euros, which can become mandatory based on Santiago Gimenez’s appearances and minutes played. The Mexican thus leaves Milan at the end of a stint marked by few highlights and many low points, partly due to various physical issues. El Bebote, in a year and a half with the Rossoneri, scored seven goals in 37 total appearances. That was not enough to earn him a contract extension.

Now the Rossoneri will focus on the other players set to leave. Keep an eye on Fofana, who has been linked to several clubs, including Juventus, which—after seeing the deal for Kessié fall through— is looking for a midfielder to satisfy coach Spalletti. It also remains to be seen what will happen to Tomori, another player who doesn’t fit into the Rossoneri’s plans.
