Juventus Transfer Market: The Latest Signing Is Hanging by a Thread

With Pape Sarr and Nick Woltemade officially signed, Juventus is moving to try to secure one final addition, this time on the wing: Nicolas Tagliafico of Lyon is in their sights. The 2022 World Cup champion would provide Luciano Spalletti with another option on the left flank: charisma, personality, reliability, and experience—he would bring everything Luciano Spalletti has been asking for for some time.

To move forward, however, Juventus must first offload Juan Cabal: the Bianconeri have been trying for some time to find a new club for the Colombian winger, who is now reportedly very close to joining Atalanta. Juventus and Atalanta have reportedly agreed on a loan deal with an obligation to buy the player’s contract at the end of the season, but they still need the player’s approval, as he has rejected previous transfer offers. His consent must come as soon as possible, given that the transfer window closes at 8 p.m.

If the deal is finalized, Juventus will try to make a move for Tagliafico, who has reportedly already accepted the Bianconeri’s offer and reached a financial agreement with the Piedmont-based club. In recent weeks, Juventus had attempted to resolve the Cabal situation through a trade with Bologna: the Bianconeri had offered the Emilian club the Colombian’s contract plus a cash adjustment of approximately 7 million euros in exchange for fullback Juan Miranda. The deal, however, never got off the ground: Cabal had rejected a move to Bologna, and Bologna had shown little willingness to part with their fullback.

On the outgoing front, today promises to be a hectic day for other players as well. According to Tuttosport, either Daniele Rugani or Federico Gatti could leave by tonight, with Rugani having received several offers, including one from Monza. Also packing their bags are Edon Zhegrova, courted by Saudi clubs; Teun Koopmeiners, who has drawn interest from Turkey; and Arek Milik, for whom a contract termination is being negotiated.
