Lazio wrapped up the summer transfer window with a gift for Gennaro Gattuso’s attack: Albert Gudmundsson has arrived from Fiorentina. The Icelandic player joins on loan from the Viola with an option to buy set at around 13 million euros.

Gudmundsson, who had fallen out of favor at Fiorentina following the club’s recent signings, has left the Viola after two years, 81 games, and 19 goals. In Italy, he also played for Genoa for two seasons. The Icelandic international can serve as Zaccagni’s backup on the left wing or play behind a center forward. Before signing Gudmundsson, the Biancocelesti had also been in talks with Yanis Begraoui of Estoril Praia and Philip Otele of Basel.

With Isaksen and Cancellieri remaining with Lazio and the signing of Pinamonti from Sassuolo as an alternative to Noslin, the team has completed its forward line. Ratkov and Boulaye Dia have left the club, with Dia’s transfer to Rennes now official.

“Lazio has announced that it has loaned out player Boulaye Dia to the French club Stade Rennais on a temporary basis with an obligation to buy should certain sporting conditions be met,” reads the statement from the Rome-based club.
