2026-2027 Bundesliga: Schalke vs. Bayern Munich, Probable Lineups

Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich face off at 6:30 p.m. in a match for the second round of the Bundesliga. The home team suffered a heavy defeat in their season opener against Augsburg and are looking to bounce back on their home turf; the German champions, on the other hand, crushed Stuttgart in their season opener a week ago.
Miron Muslic will have to do without the injured Karaman, Lasme, and Gantenbein, as well as the suspended Schallenberg. Sylla will lead the attack, supported by Adamu and Aouchiche, while El-Faouzi and Tanaka will anchor the midfield. Ljubicic and Becker will man the wings.
Kompany will be without the unavailable Musiala and Gnabry: Kane remains the focal point up front, with Olise, Brown, and Diaz behind him. In midfield, Kimmich will partner with Pavlovic, and the fullbacks will be Laimer and Davies. Upamecano and Kim will anchor the defense in front of Neuer.
Schalke vs. Bayern: Probable Lineups
Schalke (3-4-2-1): Karius; Becker, Katic, Kurucay; Ljubicic, El-Faouzi, Tanaka, Becker; Adamu, Aouchiche; Sylla. Head Coach: Miron.
Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Brown, Diaz; Kane. Head Coach: Kompany.
On the eve of the match, Kompany commented on rumors that he was allegedly unhappy with the Bavarians’ lackluster transfer activity: “I’m completely surprised that such rumors are circulating. I’ve never had such a thought. I wonder how they started. Often, certain topics quickly become the talk of the town without there being any truth to them. Musiala? He’s had a great week, training with the team the whole time. He’s doing well. We’ve already explained how we’ll handle the situation. He needs to be able to play and perform at his best, and from that standpoint, he has no issues.”
