Juventus Transfer Market: Spalletti Heads to Next Gen to Scout Talent—Young Players to Watch

Alarm bells are ringing at Juventus. Locatelli’s injury—which will keep him out for several months following his recent surgery—is just the latest in a long line of setbacks. In fact, there are already 10 injured players on the Bianconeri roster.

There has been talk of a possible move in the free-agent market (Brozovic, formerly of Inter, has been one of the most talked-about names) but, according to the latest internal club reports, it appears they are leaning toward an internal solution—namely, bolstering the current roster with young players from the Next Gen program.

Coach Spalletti himself is reportedly quite open to the idea of giving some promising young players from Juventus’s reserve team a try. Owusu, a midfielder born in 2005, has already been “called up” to help out the first team, but he might not be the only one.

Keep an eye, for example, on defender Pagnucco (born in 2006) and the very young midfielder Elimoghale, who is just 17 years old. More ready—at least in terms of age—is Macca (born in 2002), also a midfielder. In short, there’s certainly no shortage of young talent; now the ball is in Spalletti’s court, as he’ll need to “make signings” from within the Next Gen squad. Who knows—one of these promising young players might soon get a chance to shine with the first team.
