Jack Draper is one of the unluckiest tennis players on the tour: the British player is currently going through a long ordeal due to a flare-up of a left arm injury and a previous knee injury that kept him sidelined for a long time.

The English tennis player had to miss the US Open, Wimbledon, and all the major tournaments this season, which has hurt his ranking (he has plummeted to No. 151 in the world) and forced him to undergo a long recovery process to prioritize his health. Jannik Sinner, his close friend, has reached out to him several times throughout the year, and even in an interview with Cntraveler posted on Instagram, he didn’t miss the opportunity to express his full support.

“Who would I choose as my travel companion among my colleagues on the ATP Tour? Jack! Jack Draper. I think we have a great friendship. He’s currently sidelined due to some physical issues, but when he’s back at 100%, I believe he’ll show why he’s one of the best players in the world,” said the champion from Sesto Pusteria. Draper has won three tournaments in his career and reached the semifinals of the U.S. Open in 2024.

Sinner himself is recovering from a knee injury that forced him to miss the year’s final Grand Slam in New York. After extensive treatment at J Medical, the South Tyrolean will resume training in Monte Carlo before traveling to China, where he is expected to compete in the tournaments in Beijing and Shanghai.
