Sofia Goggia’s silence on social media is worrying her fans

Concerns are growing over Sofia Goggia’s health: the Italian champion cut short her trip to Argentina after feeling unwell, and her fans are also worried by her silence on social media. Goggia has a very close relationship with her fans and often uses her Instagram profile to provide updates to the public.
Sofia Goggia’s last post dates back to August 22, when she announced Markus Gufler as her new ski technician. Since then, she has posted several Instagram Stories but still nothing regarding what happened in Argentina. Fans are waiting for updates, and in the meantime, many have sent her wishes for a speedy recovery.
It was the FISI that announced the champion’s early return: “Sofia Goggia has cut short her trip to Argentina.” The champion from Bergamo, winner of the bronze medal in the Olympic downhill at Milan-Cortina 2026 and of the Super-G World Cup last season, experienced health issues during her stay in Ushuaia, which began on August 23, and, in agreement with the FISI Medical Commission chaired by Dr. Andrea Panzeri, she decided to return to Italy to undergo the necessary medical examinations in the coming days,” reads the federation’s statement.
The Alpine Ski World Cup will resume in late October with the giant slalom in Sölden, Austria, scheduled for October 24, 2026, and will conclude on March 25, 2027, in Sun Valley, United States.
In the women’s competition, 40 races are scheduled across 20 stops: nine downhill races, nine super-G races, twelve giant slaloms, and ten slaloms. The 2027 Alpine World Ski Championships will also be held in Crans-Montana during the season. American Mikaela Shiffrin is the current overall World Cup champion.
