Barcelona is in top form as it prepares to face Racing. The team coached by Hans Flick has started the season on the right foot, practically without a misstep: five wins in as many La Liga matchdays, for a total of 15 points and the top spot in the standings. Added to this is their excellent Champions League debut, highlighted by a resounding 5-1 victory over Feyenoord.

Racing’s campaign, on the other hand, has been decidedly more up-and-down, with the team having collected 7 points after five matchdays. The team has recorded two wins—against Elche and Alavés—drawn with Villarreal, and suffered two losses—against Getafe and Rayo Vallecano.

Flick faces few uncertainties heading into the match. In defense, Espart is expected to start in place of Balde, while Rodri and Pedri will form the midfield duo. There is little, if any, chance of changes to the attacking lineup, with Raphinha set to play as the lone striker and Yamal, Fermin, and Gordon supporting him.

It will be a particularly challenging away game for José Lopez’s Racing, which will also have to cope with the absence of the suspended Almeida. Zabiri is expected to lead the attack, supported in the attacking midfield by Pablo Garcia, Canales, and Vicente.

Probable lineups:

BARCELONA (4-2-3-1): J. Garcia; E. Garcia, Cubarsi, Martin, Espart; Pedri, Rodri; Yamal, Fermin, Gordon; Raphinha. Head Coach: Hans Flick.

RACING (4-2-3-1): Agirrezabala; Mantilla, Ramon, Belocian, Salinas; Martin, Prati; Garcia, Canales, Vicente; Zabiri. Head Coach: José Lopez.
