Juventus, another setback: another serious injury occurs during practice

Juventus is facing yet another serious injury. Following the absences of Manuel Locatelli and Khepren Thuram, Luciano Spalletti must now also deal with the loss of Kamil Grabara, who had just made his debut in goal for Juventus in the Europa League against NEC.

The Polish goalkeeper had made a strong debut, capped off by an unexpected assist on Nico Gonzalez’s goal, and Spalletti considered him a viable alternative to Guglielmo Vicario. But now comes the blow: the goalkeeper was injured during Saturday’s training session and will be sidelined for an extended period.

According to a statement released by Juventus, Grabara has suffered a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee: “Following a sprain to his right knee sustained during this afternoon’s training session, Kamil Grabara underwent diagnostic tests at J|medical. The tests revealed a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee. The player will undergo orthopedic consultations in the coming days to determine the treatment plan.”

Whether he undergoes surgery or not, Grabara will not be available for at least six months. This is yet another significant loss for Juventus, which is already dealing with the long-term absences of Locatelli, Thuram, and Yildiz (who is expected to return in late November).
