Novak Djokovic: His Comments on Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz Are Causing a Stir

Novak Djokovic sparks debate during the Netflix show “Cold as Balls.” The Serbian tennis star, submerged in a tub of ice-cold water as required by the streaming show’s unique format, spoke about his rivals Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

“I think anyone who follows tennis knows how Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz play. They know their styles. Who do they resemble the most? Me. And to me, that’s the greatest compliment possible,” declared the Belgrade champion.

“If I’ve been able to make an impact in tennis, I’m happy, because in the end, that’s what it’s all about.” Djokovic’s words sparked a variety of reactions on social media: many fans don’t think the comparison is fair, and they’ve made their voices heard.

Djokovic lost in the first round of the U.S. Open to Mariano Navone: a surprising defeat that didn’t, however, discourage him. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has in fact announced his return to the China Open in Beijing, where he could face Sinner, Alcaraz, and even Zverev, the recent winner of the New York Grand Slam.
