The race is in Baku (scheduled for Saturday, not Sunday).” Charles Leclerc is hoping for his first victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after securing a total of four pole positions at the Baku circuit over the course of his career.

“First win here? I don’t know; qualifying is definitely the area where we struggle the most. We need to prepare properly for qualifying. There are so many variables that change from one Grand Prix to the next. It’s certainly a track I really like—one that’s given me a lot of satisfaction, though mainly in qualifying. Let’s hope we do well in the race too,” said the Monegasque driver during the media day dedicated to the drivers.

On the subject of rivals, Charles Leclerc is clear: “McLaren is back and strong, while we need to get back on track. Mercedes, however, remains ahead of everyone.”

The Monegasque driver also weighed in on the flood of comments about Ferrari in recent weeks, most of which have been negative and controversial: “As always, I think there’s too much talk about Ferrari, and I don’t think that’s fair.”
