Francesco Totti sparks the derby and takes credit for… Jannik Sinner

Francesco Totti is gearing up for a new adventure in basketball. The former Roma captain is the new advisor for Maxima Roma, with a role focused on developing the club’s fan base and corporate social responsibility initiatives. This role will have him closely following the team, even on the road, and could soon usher in a new, all-Roman chapter.

The first date marked in red is the derby on October 11 against BC Roma, scheduled to take place at the EUR. “Will there be rivalry between the two Roman clubs? “At first, it’s normal for there to be a bit of friction, but in the end, we also have to help each other.” The comment by the Gazzetta dello Sport interviewer (“It seems obvious that he’ll try to win over the Roma fans to his side—that is, the Maxima side”) leads, however, to another quip: “So we’re in the majority.”

Totti, however, continues to follow other sports closely as well. In particular, tennis, thanks to his now-established relationship with Jannik Sinner. The former Giallorossi No. 10 still plays padel and fondly recalls a match he played against Italy’s No. 1 player: “Of course, I can still do it, man. I have a lot of fun; it’s also a way to see and spend time with lots of friends. I have to say I’ve always loved tennis a lot. And Sinner has really taken off since he played padel with me at the Foro…”.

From tennis rackets to race cars, another young Italian talent has caught Totti’s attention. It’s Kimi Antonelli, a standout in Formula 1 with Mercedes. “He’s pulling off one amazing feat after another; no one thought someone so young could take an F1 car to these heights. I’m happy—I never miss a Grand Prix, just like I never miss the MotoGP races.”
