Surprise in Parma: Carlos Cuesta is no longer the coach
Surprise at Parma: Carlos Cuesta is no longer the coach of the Ducali. The coach, born in 1995, is paying the price for the team’s start to the season: just 4 points in the first 5 matchdays were simply not enough. The club and the Spanish coach held talks and agreed it was best to part ways. The tenure of the youngest coach in our league comes to an end after just 12 months.
Now, making the most of what’s left of the break, Parma will set out to find a new coach: one of the first names to emerge as a replacement for Cuesta is Roberto D’Aversa, who previously coached the Ducali from 2016 to 2021.
Below is the club’s official statement: “Parma Calcio 1913 announces that Carlos Cuesta is no longer the head coach of the men’s first team. Following internal discussions between the club and the head coach, it was agreed that the conditions necessary for the parties to continue their professional relationship no longer existed, particularly regarding the development of the sports project. In fact, the necessary conditions to continue the work undertaken were no longer present, leading to this mutual decision.Tomorrow afternoon’s training session, Monday, September 28, will be led by the club’s coaching staff, pending further developments regarding the new head coach.
