2026-2027 Nations League: Netherlands vs. Serbia, Probable Lineups

The Netherlands and Serbia will face off at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday in a match for Matchday 4 of Group 2 in League A of the 2026–2027 Nations League. The Oranje have five points, thanks to two draws against Germany and Greece and a victory over Serbia in the first leg played in Belgrade; Serbia, still at zero points after three losses in three matches, needs to bounce back.

Xavi must deal with several absences, especially on offense. The Spanish coach is considering a possible front three of Summerville, Meerdink, and Ruben Van Bommbel. In midfield: Veerman, Gravenberch, Reijnders; the fullbacks will be Dumfries and Van de Ven.

Serbia will feature Jovic as their offensive focal point, with Zivkovic, Dzodic, and Tadic in the attacking midfield. The midfield duo consists of Sergey Milinkovic-Savic and Lukic.

Netherlands vs. Serbia: Probable Lineups
Netherlands (4-3-3): Verbruggen; Dumfries, van Dijk, Timber, van de Ven; Veerman, Gravenberch, Reijnders; Summerville, Meerdink, van Bommel. Head Coach: Xavi.
Serbia (4-2-3-1): V. Milinkovic-Savic; Nedeljkovic, Babic, Pavlovic, Kostic; S. Milinkovic-Savic, Lukic; Zivkovic, Dzodic, Tadic; Jovic. Head Coach: Paunovic.

At a press conference, Netherlands head coach Xavi criticized the new international match schedule: “This schedule isn’t right. Neither for the national teams nor for the clubs, which let their players go and sometimes see them return injured. Scheduling such a packed calendar just three months after the World Cup is asking for trouble. It’s really strange to schedule a national team window like this at this stage of the season.”
