Egypt vs. South Africa is the high-profile friendly scheduled for 8 p.m. on Sunday evening in Cairo. The Pharaohs are coming off a World Cup run that ended in the round of 16, following a comeback defeat against Lionel Messi’s Argentina. The Bafana Bafana, on the other hand, were eliminated from the World Cup one round earlier against Canada.

Both teams are coming off two lopsided 5-0 victories in qualifiers for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, against South Sudan and Eritrea, respectively. In the last match between the two teams, back in December, Egypt won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Salah (who will not be playing on Sunday).

Egypt will feature Marmoush as the focal point of the attack, with Ashour, Zico, and Hassan in the attacking midfield. Attia and Lasheen will anchor the midfield.

South Africa will feature Mailula as the center forward, supported by Matthews, Zwane, and Dithejane. Sithole and Poggenpoel will be the two defensive midfielders.
