Jorge Martin is looking to build on his strong performance at Motegi with a consistent showing at Mandalika

After a standout performance at the Japanese Grand Prix, Jorge Martín is preparing to tackle the seventeenth round of the season at the Mandalika circuit. The Spaniard arrives in Indonesia on the heels of a weekend in which he secured pole position with a new track record, a podium finish in the Sprint, and second place in Sunday’s race.
These results have allowed him to arrive at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit leading the standings, although Marc Márquez is hot on his heels. His next goal will therefore be to continue on the path he’s set over the last two Grand Prix races, seeking to defend his lead in a championship that remains highly competitive.
Martín is also feeling confident thanks to his connection with Mandalika, a track where he has had good results in the past. The Aprilia rider also highlighted the progress the team has shown at Motegi, a circuit that has traditionally been challenging for the Noale-based manufacturer.
“We’re leaving Japan—a circuit that hasn’t historically been among Aprilia’s best—with great satisfaction. The team did an exceptional job, and the double podium further reflects the commitment of the entire team,” explained Martín, before turning his attention to the next challenge.
“Now we’re heading to Indonesia, a track that’s always given me a good feeling. However, the championship remains very close, and we need to keep moving in this direction, working together and improving day by day. See you in Mandalika!”
The Indonesian circuit, inaugurated in 2021, is 4.3 kilometers long and features 17 turns—11 right-handers and 6 left-handers. A track characterized by fast sections, direction changes, and challenging braking points, where Martín will try to extend his streak of positive results.
