Awudu Abass’s future could take him back to Serie A, although in Greece there is strong interest from Andrea Trinchieri’s PAOK Thessaloniki. The Juventus coach knows the 1993-born wing player very well, having already coached him during his time at Cantù. Currently under contract with Dubai, Abass could change teams in the coming weeks, given his increasingly limited role within the Emirati club’s plans.

In Italy, attention is focused primarily on Rome. According to reports in “La Provincia,” both of Rome’s Serie A teams, BC Roma and Maxima, are reportedly considering the possibility of signing the player who came up through the ranks at Pallacanestro Cantù. He brings a wealth of experience, built up over more than fifteen years at the highest level.

Born and raised in Como, Abass began playing for Antoniana before joining Cantù’s youth academy at age 13. With the blue-and-whites, he made his Serie A debut in the 2010–2011 season and won the Italian Super Cup in 2012, remaining in Brianza until his transfer to Olimpia Milano in 2016.

With Milan, he also competed in the EuroLeague and won one Scudetto, one Italian Cup, and two Italian Super Cups. He then played for Brescia from 2018 to 2020, before moving to Virtus Bologna. With the Vu Nere, between 2020 and 2024, he added a Scudetto, a EuroCup, and three Italian Super Cups to his list of achievements.
After 62 appearances with the national team, Abass chose to move to Dubai in the summer of 2024. Now, a new chapter in the 33-year-old’s career could be beginning, with the two Roman clubs and Trinchieri’s PAOK among the possible destinations.
