Orsolini, a goal and an injury: when he’ll return. His condition

Riccardo Orsolini’s injury was the only downside to Bologna’s Sunday, as the team secured its first league win of the season. In Lecce, Palladino’s team won 2-1, and the first goal for Bologna was scored by the winger himself, who netted a spectacular scissor kick in the first half.

Toward the end of the match, however, the player collapsed to the ground, clutching his sore right thigh. He received immediate medical attention but was forced to leave the field, leaving Bologna down to ten men because Coach Palladino had already used all his substitutions.

The issue is muscular in nature and will be evaluated in the coming hours; it is too early to determine the extent of the injury. Orsolini will undergo tests on Monday to determine the next steps: Palladino hopes he managed to stop playing in time. The forward had also been sidelined with a muscle issue in early September and had to miss the matches against Sassuolo and Napoli.

Before the injury, however, the winger had delivered a standout performance for his team: his goal—a splendid aerial acrobatic finish off a cross from Cambiaghi—opened the scoring at the Via del Mare and kicked off a match that was anything but easy for the Rossoblù. In the second half, Lecce equalized through Fatah in the 65th minute, aided by a mistake by Pessina as he came off his line, before Enem sealed the 2-1 victory in the 76th minute on yet another assist from Cambiaghi.
