Atlético Madrid and Barcelona will light up Saturday in La Liga, on a matchday featuring four games and plenty of reasons to watch. The Colchoneros will take the field at 2:00 p.m. at Espanyol, while the Blaugrana will take the field at 6:30 p.m. at Betis. In between, at 4:15 p.m., Villarreal will face Elche. The day will wrap up with Valencia and Athletic Bilbao facing off at 9:00 p.m.

The Spanish league’s matchday had already kicked off with Deportivo La Coruña vs. Levante, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The match played in Galicia, with Manuel Jesús Orellana Cid officiating, saw neither team come out on top, as they split the points at the end of a closely contested match.

Meanwhile, a former star of Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid continues to make headlines, though for less-than-pleasant reasons. We’re talking about Álvaro Morata, who is struggling through a difficult season with Leganés in Spain’s second division. The former Milan and Juventus forward has yet to score a goal or provide an assist, and against Córdoba, he lost his cool. After coming on in the second half, he was cautioned for an altercation with an opponent and subsequently sent off for protesting. His anger toward the match officials forced his teammates to intervene. Leganés lost 1-0 and sits in 17th place, while Morata faces a disciplinary suspension of several matches.
