2026-2027 Premier League: Manchester United vs. Bournemouth—Probable Lineups

On Matchday 8 of the Premier League, Manchester United will host Bournemouth in a match scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 p.m. The Red Devils have gotten off to a terrible start to the season: in the first 7 league matches, Bruno Fernandes and his teammates have earned just 7 points.

Bournemouth’s performance has been even worse, as they’ve managed to scrape together just 6 points so far. Marco Rose’s team, however, is coming off a victory against Milan in the Europa League—a decisive 3-0 win that has certainly boosted morale. Against Ruben Amorim’s Rossoneri, the match went their way right from the start thanks to a penalty converted by Kluivert; then, at the half-hour mark, the Diavolo were reduced to 10 men following Maignan’s ejection, and the Cherries capitalized on the opportunity.

Michael Carrick’s position as manager is extremely precarious, and he cannot afford to make any more mistakes: Antonio Conte’s shadow is already looming large. For the match against Bournemouth, Lammens will be in goal, with Dalot, Maguire, Heaven, and Mazraoui in front of him. Tielemans and Baleba will anchor the midfield, with Diallo, Fernandes, and Cunha in the attacking midfield behind Mbeumo.

Bournemouth will also line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, making several changes to the lineup that secured Thursday’s victory over Milan. In goal, Petrović will take the place of former Juventus player Di Gregorio, with Smith, Hill, Silva, and Truffert in front of him. Adams and Christie will shield the Red Devils’ defense, while Rayan, Kluivert, and Tavernier will play further forward, with Evanilson as the main attacking threat.
