Milan defeated Udinese 2-0 at the Friuli Stadium in their Serie A Matchday 8 clash. Ruben Amorim’s team, without breaking a sweat, defeated the Bianconeri with goals from Pulisic and Hutchinson, climbing to third place tied with Roma at 18 points. Runjaic’s team is in deep crisis, suffering its sixth consecutive loss.

Milan controlled the game in the first half at the Friuli, maintaining the initiative and taking the lead immediately in the 6th minute through Pulisic: on a free kick taken by Modric, the American was kept in play by Vojovoda and made no mistake in front of Okoye. Udinese struggled to respond; Bartesaghi nearly made it 2-0, and Tomori and Pulisic also came close to scoring. In the 40th minute, Bartesaghi and Ramos got in each other’s way and missed the chance to double the lead.

In the second half, Amorim’s team kept pressing even as the pace slowed. Pulisic had two clear chances, but Okoye was alert. In the 66th minute, the visitors finally make it 2-0: Hutchinson is the quickest to react to Okoye’s short parry off Jashari’s shot and finds the back of the net to double the lead.

The Diavolo cruised against an Udinese side in serious trouble: in the 74th minute, Okoye made a splendid diving save to prevent a 3-0 deficit on Ramos’s shot. It wasn’t until the 80th minute that the home team had a good chance through Davis, but Maignan was there to make the save. In the closing minutes, Cissé—who had just come on for Bartesaghi—also sought glory with a curling shot that went just wide. That’s how it ended: Milan won and caught up with Roma.
