Jannik Sinner Reveals What Makes Him Happy

Jannik Sinner has broken his long silence and, in an interview with *La Repubblica*, opened up about himself during a difficult period in his career due to a knee injury.
“I’ve never stopped playing, nor have I turned my back on tennis because it hurt me. On the contrary, I’ve always worked very hard—both in the gym and on the court—and with the physical therapists. ‘Patience’ is the right word for this period,” explained the Italian player, who said he has no regrets about his career. “To the 10-year-old Sinner, I’d say to live those moments to the fullest; I have no regrets, and I wouldn’t advise him to change course, but rather to choose wisely the people he surrounds himself with.”
The South Tyrolean tennis player also spoke about his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz: “We’re not all the same; contrasts bring out the best in us. Maybe I’m seen as the disciplined, determined champion, and Carlos as the Mediterranean, eccentric one. That’s the beauty of it—having someone who pushes you to your limits. And tennis has always thrived on this: from Borg-McEnroe to Sampras-Agassi, until the rivalry became a three-way battle with Federer-Nadal-Djokovic.”
The champion from San Candido explained what makes him happy: “The simplicity of a winter Sunday with my friends skiing in the Dolomites. The feeling of a beautiful day doing something you love. I’d also include any moment with my family and one go-karting with Giovinazzi and Ciccone. I love speed—it’s no secret. I need the adrenaline to keep boredom at bay.”
