Roland Garros: Iga Swiatek-Coco Gauff 6-2 6-4
Iga Swiatek è the first finalist in the women’s singles draw at Roland Garros 2024. The Polish tennis player, in fact, è imposed herself in two sets on the American Coco Gauff with a score of 6-2 6-4, in one hour and thirty-seven minutes of play, detaching her pass for the final act where she will seek her fourth triumph in Paris.
The first set è without history, as Gauff struggles immediately with her forehand and Swiatek è adept at taking advantage right away. The break in favor of the Polish came in the opening round and after a phase of balance the world number one placed the decisive stretch, closing the set on 6-2.
In the second partial, the American tennis player finally entered the match and managed to find the break first in the fourth game. The Warsaw native’s reaction, however, was not long in coming: first she placed the counter-break and then won the match with a five-game-to-one split, closing the score at 6-4.
In the final Iga Swiatek will face the winner of the second semifinal between Jasmine Paolini and Mirra Andreeva.
