The prestigious Zoate Golf Club hosted Antonio Faravelli, a winemaker and avid golfer from Montù Beccaria, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese region, for the A.G.I.S. Doubles Championship. The owner of Cantine Vitea participated in the event by bringing a selection of his most representative wines and presenting “Golf and Wine 1895,” the ambitious project he spearheads, created with the goal of contributing to the revitalization and promotion of “Made in Italy” by bringing together sports, winemaking tradition, and regional excellence.

Faravelli’s presence generated considerable interest among attendees, who had the opportunity to learn about and taste some of Cantine Vitea’s most acclaimed wines. Particularly in demand were the Metodo Classico Pinot Nero Pas Dosé, the Pinot Grigio Trame’s, and the Bonarda Gallesio—multi-award-winning wines recognized by Italy’s Finest Wines as among the finest expressions of Italian winemaking. The quality of the wines won over numerous attendees, many of whom, after the tasting, chose to purchase bottles, expressing great satisfaction.

One of the day’s most significant moments came during the awards ceremony, when Antonio Faravelli explained to the participants the characteristics and objectives of “Golf and Wine 1895.” The project, designed to create new opportunities for promoting Italian excellence through the world of golf, received widespread acclaim, confirming the interest in an initiative that aims to combine sports, tourism, wine culture, and the promotion of national products.

Behind this entrepreneurial venture lies the long tradition of Cantine Vitea, a winery with over a century of history, deeply rooted in the Oltrepò Pavese region. It is a company that has successfully preserved its winemaking heritage passed down through the generations, combining tradition with a constant pursuit of quality. This is evidenced by the numerous accolades it has received over the years, including the certificate awarded by Vini Buoni d’Italia of the Italian Touring Club, two gold medals won in Asia, and several international awards conferred by Decanter.

Among the winery’s signature products are the Bonarda Gallesio and the sparkling wines made from Pinot Noir grapes, expressions of a region historically suited to viticulture. This connection to the past is also intertwined with a curious family anecdote: according to Faravelli family tradition, these wines were particularly appreciated by the great composer Giacomo Puccini, who was a close friend of the family.

Antonio Faravelli’s commitment, however, extends beyond wine production and the promotion of the region. An important part of his work is also dedicated to solidarity and supporting charitable initiatives. Recently, the entrepreneur was invited to participate in the event “Amo la Vita,” organized by the Milanese Oncology Association at the Vigevano Golf Club, where he showcased wines from Cantine Vitea and the “Golf and Wine 1895” project, contributing to an event dedicated to a cause of great social value.

“I couldn’t say no to an initiative like this,” explained Faravelli, emphasizing the importance of providing concrete support for scientific research. “Research is very important and can save lives.”

This commitment goes hand in hand with his entrepreneurial vision, rooted in the belief that golf can serve as an effective tool for promoting awareness of Italian products, boosting tourism, and creating new opportunities for economic development.

For Faravelli, in fact, the relationship between golf and wine is not merely the convergence of two personal passions, but a concrete opportunity to build synergies capable of involving companies, sports clubs, and local communities, thereby contributing to the spread of Italian culture and quality even beyond national borders.

“If golf grows, the entire system grows. Let’s play and work together for the good of Italy,” is the message with which the entrepreneur sums up the philosophy behind his project.

The positive response received at the Zoate Golf Club thus represents another milestone in the promotion of “Golf and Wine 1895,” an initiative that aims to transform a passion for golf and fine wine into an opportunity for growth and the promotion of “Made in Italy,” while keeping the quality of production, the identity of the regions, and Italian winemaking tradition at the center.
