2026-2027 Premier League: Newcastle vs. Everton, Probable Lineups

Newcastle and Everton face off again just four days later, this time at St. James’ Park, for Matchday 9 of the Premier League. Tonight at 9 p.m., the two teams will meet again following Everton’s 3-1 victory in the fourth round of the League Cup last Thursday. That result knocked Newcastle out of the competition, and Matthias Jaissle’s team is looking to bounce back in front of its home crowd. The hosts come into the match having returned to winning ways in the league with a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, though their form remains inconsistent. On the other hand, David Moyes’s Everton aims to build on its cup victory and snap a two-game losing streak in the Premier League.
As for the lineups, Jaissle must deal with several absences: Livramento and Jaouen are out, while Miley and Fernandez-Pardo remain doubtful. Osula, meanwhile, is likely to miss the match after suffering an ankle injury in the League Cup match. Up front, Wissa is therefore the favorite to start, with Joelinton ready to reclaim a spot in midfield.
For Everton, Branthwaite’s availability remains to be determined as he goes through the concussion protocol. Moyes is confident he’ll be available, but it’s not yet certain whether he’ll start. In the attacking midfield, Dibling and George are in the running for a starting spot, while Barry is expected to start up front.
Probable Lineups
