Milan Transfer Market: Amorim Wants to Cut Four Players in January

The heavy defeat in the Europa League against Ferencvaros has raised new doubts about Ruben Amorim’s plans for Milan. Just a few days after winning the derby against Inter, the team suffered a setback that infuriated the Portuguese coach, sparking rumors of possible transfers during the January transfer window.
According to reports, Amorim is inclined to request changes to his roster ahead of the winter transfer window, and the list of players set to leave reportedly includes several who underperformed on Thursday: among them, Filippo Terracciano, who wasn’t ready when called upon in the Europa League; midfielder Ardon Jashari, who continues to underperform and is out of rhythm; winger Davide Bartesaghi; and Francesco Camarda, who sees very little playing time and, when given a chance, never manages to make an impact.
These four players risk losing their spots on Milan’s roster in January, reports Sportmediaset. Amorim has requested specific reinforcements; he wants a center back like Gonçalo Inacio, has asked for Athekame’s return from his loan at Lyon, and for the attack, he wants a top-tier striker, given Gonçalo Ramos’s ongoing struggles to finish: Nicolò Tresoldi is reportedly among the targets.
As for Camarda’s future, meanwhile, a new loan move is being considered, but Milan wants to avoid repeating last season’s mistakes: his stint at Lecce, with a team fighting to avoid relegation, did not guarantee him the playing time he had hoped for. For this reason, Serie B is also being considered, provided it’s with a team at least in contention for the playoffs and capable of ensuring him consistent playing time. Among the interested clubs is Cagliari, which is looking to bolster its attack during the winter transfer window.
Up front, the situation is fluid. Ramos, who arrived in a deal worth over 70 million euros, has scored just three goals this season: his last came on October 18 against Atalanta on a penalty kick, while his last goal from open play dates back to the win over Salzburg. Milan’s top targets remain Tresoldi and Endrick, but José Mourinho and Ivan Leko consider them key to their own plans. Furthermore, Arsenal is also in the running for Tresoldi. The club is ready to explore loan deals with an option or obligation to buy in order to soften the other sides’ positions. The pursuit of Cagliari’s Paul Mendy is less likely, while among free agents, Karim Benzema and Anthony Martial remain options, though no concrete contacts have been made.
