Como ends up knocked out again: Fabregas’ team, beaten last week by Inter Milan, also fell in Reggio Emilia, defeated 2-1 by Sassuolo in the first advance of the 33rd day of Serie A, played Friday. The Larians, just one point in their last three games, remain fifth on 58 points, -2 from fourth-place Juventus, which has one game less. For Grosso’s team, saved for a long time, come three more points that bring it closer to eighth-place Bologna.

High spirits in the first half, the two teams face off: the guests create sharp chances with Nico Paz but the very compact Sassuolo concedes few spaces.

Finale of the half with fireworks: at 43′ Volpato breaks the balance by scoring with a beautiful lob and finalizing in the best way the counterattack orchestrated by Laurienté and finished by Nzola. In the dying minutes came first the doubling of Nzola, still on target at the end of a lethal restart by the Emilians, then the goal that reopened the game by Nico Paz just before halftime.

In the second half Fabregas decided to shake up his team by inserting Caqueret, Vojvoda and Douvikas right at the beginning of the second half. Como threw itself forward and controlled the game, but its ball possession was sterile and incisive. On the contrary, it is Sassuolo with targeted counterattacks that create the most thrills.

In 69′ Turati rises to the top, denying Nico Paz the equalizer with a great save. That’s the clearest chance for Como, which can’t create any more big chances. Another false step for Fabregas’ team, further away from the Champions League dream.
